Robin began his photographic career in 1974, photographing weddings and creating portraits. In 1977 he decided to join with a local photographic studio in the St. Matthews area. 2003 was the year that he decided to go back on his own. His goal was to go on location for everyone in order to create a unique portrait each and every time. Continuing education in the field of photography is of huge importance to Robin. He has been a member in good standings with: ·Professional Photographers of America ·Kentucky Professional Photographers Association He attends several seminars each year that help keep him abreast of the most current developments in the field of photography. Robin received his Bachelors of Science degree from the University of Louisville in 1992. His other interests are: ·Music: guitar, singing. ·Sports: golf, tennis, basketball. ·Skydiving: He made his first jump in 1975, and now has over 1500 jumps. ·Flying: holding an airmans certificate of Commercial Pilot, Airplane Single and Multi Engine Land, Instrument Airplane, with over 1200 hours of flying. Robin's print of "Blue Boy" went into the "Traveling Loan Collection" at the Professional Photographers of America International Print Competition. From six images entered into the 2010 Kentucky Professional Photographers Association Print Competition, Robin received five blue ribbons for his work. Robin entered six images into the print competition at the 2007 Kentucky Professional Photographers Association annual Convention . Two of his images were awarded with “Blue” Ribbons entries receiving a score of 80 or above, two images were “Red” Ribbon entries receiving a score of 78 or 79 and two images were “Green” Ribbon entries receiving a score of 76 or 77. Each print was given a Gold Acceptance Corner accepted for exhibition at the Annual convention. Robin has recently won awards in his photography. Attending the Kentucky Professional Photographers Association’s Fall Seminar in 2006, Robin’s print of “Crimson and Gold” won “Best of Show” within the print competition. Robin received “The Horizon Award” for his print “Smokin”. The Horizon Award is an award offered to a first time entrant and / or entrant that has never received any KPPA print awards. The print must score 80 or above to qualify.
